She began her first novel, Letters From Rapunzel, by imagining that her main character was writing letters to her from captivity. The novel won the Ursula Nordstrom Fiction Prize, and was published in 2007 by HarperCollins. She followed it with a story drawn straight from the life of her military family, Operation Yes (Arthur A. Levine/Scholastic Books, 2009.) Sara has lived in eleven states and three countries. She now lives in Virginia with her husband and two children. |
